The IHS JV. volleyball team wrapped up its season last night against Lindsay Thurber in Red Deer.
Despite their struggle to finish with many wins throughout the season, coach Glen Carritt said it鈥檚 been a steady improvement for the boys team, that hasn鈥檛 existed at the school for years.
鈥淚 don鈥檛 think there鈥檚 been a team for 10 years or so for the boys,鈥� said Carritt, who coached girls ball at the school for eight years before switching over to coach boys this year.
鈥淚 think a couple of players were keen on playing and were instrumental on getting a team going,鈥� he said of the group that boasts 11 players.
鈥淎bout two are Grade 12, the rest are 10 and 11,鈥� he said, adding he鈥檚 hopeful to see the team continue next year.
鈥淚t was a lot of learning this year; a lot of the boys have never really played at all 鈥� but they鈥檝e been learning lots and really keeping their chins up.鈥�
