The Olds midget B Grizzlys had a tough time of it at the provincial tournament over the weekend of March 23 and 24 in Provost, finishing with a 0-2-1 record.
"Our first two games, we played extremely well; outplayed both teams, just couldn't score enough goals. In the third game, we were in tough against a better team than us,卯 said Rodney Perigny, coach of the team.
The midget B Grizzlys opened the tournament with a 7-4 loss to Sexsmith, before tying Bow Island 4-4. In the team's last game against Stettler, the Grizzlys were outgunned 10-2.
"I think overall we had a pretty good season. Obviously to qualify for provincials it was a great step. We were a Tier 3 team and we beat Carstairs, which was a Tier 2 team,卯 he said.
While the team ended the regular season eighth out of 11 teams, Perigny still considered it a good season, with the Grizzlys over the .500 mark for the season.
