NEW YORK (AP) 鈥� Tenor Stephen Gould, who announced earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with incurable bile duct cancer, has died. He was 61. Gould's agent Stephanie Ammann confirmed the singer died Tuesday in Virginia.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) 鈥� Former Kentucky Gov. Brereton C. Jones, a Republican turned Democrat who led efforts to improve health care and strengthen ethics laws during his one term three decades ago, has died, Gov. Andy Beshear said Monday.

HALIFAX 鈥� Jen Powley, who pushed back with her writing and wisdom against systems that limited the lives of Nova Scotians with disabilities, has died at the age of 45.

TOKYO (AP) 鈥� Eno Ichikawa, who revived the spectacular in Japanese Kabuki theater to woo younger and global audiences, has died. He was 83. Ichikawa died after suffering heart problems on Wednesday in Tokyo, the entertainment company Shochiku Co.

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) 鈥� Renowned Colombian painter and sculptor Fernando Botero, whose depictions of people and objects in plump, exaggerated forms became emblems of Colombian art around the world, has died. He was 91.

MONTREAL 鈥� Claude Cormier, a celebrated Canadian landscape architect who helped design some of Montreal and Toronto's best-known public spaces, has died at 63.
