NEW YORK (AP) 鈥� Astrud Gilberto, the Brazilian singer, songwriter and entertainer whose off-hand, English-language cameo on 鈥淭he Girl from Ipanema鈥� made her a worldwide voice of bossa nova, has died at age 83.

Jim Hines, the 1968 Olympic 100-meter champion who later went on to be an NFL wide receiver, has died. He was 76. USA Track and Field announced that Hines died Saturday. No cause of death was provided.

LOS ANGELES (AP) 鈥� Anna Shay, an heiress, philanthropist and breakout star of the Netflix reality series 鈥淏ling Empire,鈥� has died at 62. Shay died from a stroke, according to a family statement provided to The Associated Press on Monday.

CALGARY 鈥� One of the men who brought the Winter Olympic Games to Calgary in 1988 has died. Bob Niven, who was president of the bid committee, died May 26 at the age of 80.

Norma Hunt, the second wife of the late Kansas City Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt and the only woman to attend every Super Bowl, has died. She was 85.

Kaija Saariaho, who wrote acclaimed works that made her the among the most prominent composers of the 21st century, died Friday. She was 70. Saariaho died at her apartment in Paris, her family said in a statement posted on her Facebook page.
