MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) 鈥� Former Alabama Republican U.S. Rep. Robert Terry Everett, who represented the state's 2nd District from 1993 to 2009, died Tuesday, the governor's office confirmed. He was 87.

LONDON (AP) 鈥� Karl Wallinger, the multi-instrumentalist and solo force behind the band World Party and former member of The Waterboys, has died. Wallinger, 66, passed away Sunday, his publicist said. No cause of death was announced.

Former U.N. diplomat Giandomenico Picco, whose negotiating skills helped resolve some of the thorniest crises of the 1980s and 1990s, including the Iran-Iraq war and the kidnappings of Westerners by Hezbollah in Lebanon, has died.

Dave Ritchie, who was the head coach of the B.C. Lions for their iconic '94 Grey Cup victory over the Baltimore Stallions, died Saturday. He was 85. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, another CFL team Ritchie coached, confirmed the death.

ATLANTA (AP) 鈥� Naomi Barber King, a civil rights activist who was married to the younger brother of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., has died at age 92.

TOKYO (AP) 鈥� Akira Toriyama, the creator of the best-selling Dragon Ball and other popular anime who influenced Japanese comics, has died, his studio said Friday. He was 68.

NEW YORK (AP) 鈥� Steve Lawrence, a singer and top stage act who as a solo performer and in tandem with his wife Eydie Gorme kept Tin Pan Alley alive during the rock era, died Thursday. He was 88.

LONDON (AP) 鈥� Edward Bond, a playwright who shocked the British theater world with his explosive 1965 drama 鈥淪aved,鈥� has died, his agent said Tuesday. He was 89. Bond鈥檚 literary agency, Casarotto Ramsay and Associates, said that he died on Sunday.

Chris Mortensen, the award-winning journalist who covered the NFL for close to four decades, including 32 as a senior analyst at ESPN, died Sunday morning. He was 72. ESPN confirmed Mortensen鈥檚 death on Sunday.
