RCMP investigates multiple thefts

RCMP is investigating multiple thefts that have occurred in the Olds area in the past two weeks. A break and enter at the IRIS eye care clinic in Cornerstone was reported at 12:40 a.m. on May 2. 鈥淪unglasses were stolen.

RCMP is investigating multiple thefts that have occurred in the Olds area in the past two weeks.

A break and enter at the IRIS eye care clinic in Cornerstone was reported at 12:40 a.m. on May 2.

鈥淪unglasses were stolen. I don't have a dollar value, but it was significant,鈥 said Const. Colleen von Krogh, Olds RCMP detachment.

The Olds detachment called for police dog services.

鈥淗owever, they found the trail and lost it,鈥 said von Krogh.

The matter is still under investigation.

Stolen car parts

Parts were stolen from a car parked in the Olds Dodge Chrysler dealership parking lot sometime between April 20 and May 1.

鈥淭he value of the stolen parts is approximately $5,000,鈥 said von Krogh.

The matter is still under investigation.

鈥淚f anybody has any information in regard to that, they are welcome to contact us,鈥 said von Krogh.

Theft from backyard

A motorbike and a snowblower were stolen from an Olds residence's backyard on April 26. The residence is situated in the 5100 block of 50 Street.

鈥淚t appears that the items were stolen some time after 9 p.m.,鈥 said von Krogh.

鈥淭he total value of the two items would be just over $3,000.鈥

The matter is still under investigation.

Copper wire theft

It was reported last week that copper wire had been stolen from a job site near the corner of Highway 27 and Highway 791, east of Olds.

鈥淎pproximately $5,000 worth of copper was stolen,鈥 said Const. Brendan Ward, Olds RCMP.

鈥淲e are looking for any information that might assist us in that investigation.鈥

Vehicle break-ins

RCMP has been dealing with a series of vehicle break-ins in the Hawthorne area.

鈥淭hese vehicles were left unlocked,鈥 said von Krogh.

鈥淲e remind people to keep their vehicles locked at all times.鈥
