There are warm hearts in Olds to help those struggling from the cold. And the Church of the Nazarene, in partnership with the town, is ensuring that no one gets left out.

RCMP are searching for a male suspect in his early 20s or 30s who robbed the CIBC branch in Olds Tuesday. Around 2 p.m. Jan. 8, a lone male entered the bank at 4513 52 Ave. and demanded cash from the teller.

The Town of Olds has hired a new manager for Nu-2-U to replace Pat Ingham who left for Red Deer last year. Barbara Adair will take up her new position, leading volunteers in the managing of the store.

The Christmas Angels in Olds and district have come up with a new way to obtain toys for needy families in the community – Stuff The Bus. The Sunshine Bus will be parked in the Olds Canadian Tire parking lot Saturday, Dec. 13. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Numerous people facing chargesNumerous people are facing charges following the theft of a licence plate stolen from a vehicle parked at the Ramada Inn overnight between Nov. 24 and Nov. 25. The plate was stolen from a white 2009 Chev Silverado.

RCMP say the two drivers involved in a collision near Didsbury last week were lucky to avoid serious injury. On Nov. 24 at 5:45 p.m. police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Hwy. 582 and Hwy. 2A.

A fire erupted inside Paint Pot on 50th Street in Olds last Saturday evening at around 8:30 p.m. while the store was closed for business.

The Community Learning Campus fitness centre will be helping out the Mountain View Food Bank over the next two weeks, collecting donations of non-perishable food items. The effort was to begin Monday and run until Dec. 14.

Town council approved a change last week to utility accounts that would allow town staff to disconnect services to any customer that doesn't pay their bill after more than 30 days' receipt of that bill.
