The Olds Grizzlys are in a five-way tie for the south division lead in the Alberta Junior Hockey League following a 4-1 triumph on home ice Friday against the Canmore Eagles.

They have been buddies since grade school. They have competed against each other in sports. They have also teamed together over the years to achieve new goals. And now with both entering adulthood they are determined to conquer the world.

The Olds Bantam Bulldogs football team was surprised by an aerial attack from the Lindsay Thurber Junior Raiders with the Raiders scoring four touchdowns on long passes during Central Alberta Football League play on Saturday.

The veteran-laden Olds Spartans football team took full advantage of a young Canmore Collegiate High School Wolverines squad beating the visitors 64-7 on Saturday at Normie Kwong Park.

The Pee Wee Cyclones football team got its 2011 season underway last Saturday afternoon with a huge win over the Strathmore Spartans at the legendary McMahon Stadium, home of the Calgary Stampeders. The Cyclones defeated the Spartans 64-8.

On Thursday, September 15th the Innisfail Eagles hosted their first-ever charity golf tournament at the Innisfail Golf Club. One hundred and thirty golfers came out in support of the Eagles and Innisfail鈥檚 Helping Hand Fund.

It鈥檚 a happy ending for Cara Vanderham who finished her season taking tour champ title at Wolf Creek last month. 鈥淚鈥檝e played the tour since I started competing.

They鈥檙e sore, they鈥檙e tired but they鈥檙e happy. Close to 40 players turned out Saturday for the 24-hour charity hockey game in support of Children Cancer Foundation at the Penhold Multiplex, with an unofficial count of $3,230 raised.
